GENEALOGY RESEARCH CONDUCTED

Genealogy (Family History) has been my passion and general focus in my life since 1983. When the discovery was made that my wife and I had many convicts in our family trees I was hooked. Thus became my quest to gather additional information, family stories, photographs, visit distant relatives, search numerous cemeteries and to walk the streets that our ancestors did. Many thrills were experienced and continue to be experienced during this life long hobby. Locating an ancestor who was shot at the Eureka Stockade in Ballarat, finding a great great grandfather's grave and headstone at old East Perth Cemetery; making contact with cousins throughout the world by letter, email and in person; obtaining the court records for our transported convicts and many other highlights were experienced over these 23 years.

There is nothing so pleasing in attempting your own family research and making those discoveries of the how, why and where of your ancestors and I would recommend to others to seek out their roots personally. However some people do not have the time or inclination to join a genealogical society, learn various computer programs to make searches, join online internet professional research sites (at cost) and learn procedures to obtain documents/records from a wide range of sources. Nor the desire to learn various ways to record such information obtained through use of computer programs, display family history on charts and printouts or how to share details with other family members.

During my search for information on our ancestors I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge through research at LDS Centres, at the State Library, Genealogical Society, National Archives Office, Seminars, Internet sites, member of numerous internet mailing lists and with assistance from many people over the years. In addition I have gathered a large collection of personal genealogical research material, especially that for early Australian research.

I am retired from the workforce and can assist you to research your ancestors, particularly those ancestors who arrived in Australia prior to 1939. Many Australians have connections with the 150, 000 plus convicts who were transported to Australia or to the large migration of people to make their fortune on the Victorian or Western Australian Goldfields. Let me help you discover your early Australian ancestors if you are unable to do it personally yourself. Send me an email with your contact details and we can discuss your requirements. My costs are very reasonable.
