THE WRIGHT GRANDCHILDREN

There are sixteen grandchildren of Alexander and Annie Wright (nee Price) who lived to adulthood. They are listed below with a very brief summary of known personal details for each:

Albert John WRIGHT: Born 24/8/1888 Beaconsfield Tasmania. Came to W.A. with his grandmother. Occupation dentist. Married Mary POTTER. Lived Northam. Died Northam W.A 17/12/1963. No issue.

Albert John (Jack) BROADHURST: Born 8/2/1896 Zeehan Tasmania. Came to W.A. with mother. Occupation taxi driver then Founding Managing Director of Pioneer Buses. Married Mary WARD. Lived Cottesloe. Died Cottesloe W.A. of Cancer 6/4/1949. Two daughters.

Clarence Alfred WRIGHT: Born 18/6/1896 Zeehan Tasmania. Came to W.A. after World War 1. Occupation taxi driver. Married Nita SMITH. Lived Victoria Park. Died Victoria Park W.A 27/11/1983. Two daughters. One died as a child run over by truck.

Thelma Dorothy WRIGHT: Born 1897 Perth W.A. Unmarried. Lived Claremont. Died Claremont W.A. 11/4/1937, aged 40 years.

Lemona Ann BROADHURST: Born 15/2/1898 Beaconsfield Tasmania. Came to W.A. with mother. Married Wallace CRESSWELL, bricklayer. Died Subiaco W.A. 10/1/1995. One son and three daughters.

Annie Mary Florence WILSON: Born 2/9/1899 Zeehan Tasmania. Married William GREEN, service station proprietor. Lived Maylands. Died Nedlands W.A. 21/12/1956. Three daughters and one son.

Aubrey Milton WRIGHT: Born 2/7/1899 Claremont W.A. Occupation wool classer. Married Edna WILLIAMS. Lived Swanbourne then Nedlands. Died Attadale W.A. 6/5/1982. Three daughters and one son.

Thomas William BROADHURST: Born 13/5/1900 Beaconsfield Tasmania. Ran away from father in Tasmania and came to W.A. Occupation dairy farmer. Married Rubina WALTERS. Lived Harvey and Mandurah. Died Harvey W.A 23/7/1981. Four daughters and two sons.

Keith Mackie WILSON: Born 28/1/1902 W.A. Occupation Milkman and Lay Preacher. Married Freda EASTMAN. Died North Perth W.A. 6/8/1977. No issue.

Leila Frances BROADHURST: Born 11/12/1902 Beaconsfield Tasmania. Came to W.A. with mother. Married Alexander (Colin) WIGHTMAN, S.E.C. linesman. Lived Cottesloe and Hollywood. Divorced. Died W.A. 31/1/1965. Two daughters.

Malcolm WRIGHT: Born 1903 Claremont W.A. Occupation medical practitioner. Married Esse then later Kathleen. Went to live in U.K. No issue from either marriage. Still living in 1991.

William Jack WILSON: Born 19/3/1904 Claremont W.A. Occupation brewery worker. Married Martha Agnes THOMPSON. Lived Maylands. Died Maylands W.A. 17/1/1971. Three daughters.

Edna Ruby WILSON: Born 15/2/1906 Maylands W.A. Married John (Tom) GIRDLESTONE, plasterer. Lived Cottesloe and Mosman Park. Died Mosman Park 27/2/1988. One daughter and one son.

Iris Rita WILSON: Born 28/9/1909 Maylands W.A. Married Leslie Montrose SWEET, accountant. Died 23/8/1990. One daughter and one son.

George Alexander WILSON: Born 12/8/1912 Maylands W.A. Occupation bricklayer. Married Bertha HUMPHRIES - GREY. Died 11/2/1997. One daughter and one son.

Clarence Henry WILSON: Born 10/4/1917 Maylands W.A. Married Nellie PANTING. Divorced. Died 24/2/1997. Two daughters, one adopted son. One daughter adopted by cousin Clarie Wright.
